The 2019 United Kingdom Silver Proof Coin Set

This set contains coins honouring important anniversaries being observed by The Royal Mint in 2019 alongside the definitive coins of the year. The 1p to the 50p are presented together to complete the ‘picture-puzzle’ design by Matthew Dent, featuring the Royal Arms, while the £2 coin features Antony Dufort’s Britannia. The 50p is of particular note as 2019 marks half a century since the coin denomination was introduced. All the coins in the set have been struck in 925 sterling silver to Proof standard, highlighting every detail of the designs.

A £5 coin celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria, a £2 coin marks the 260th anniversary of the foundation of Wedgwood, and a £2 coin pays tribute to the bravery of Allied forces and the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. A £2 coin marks 350 years since the final entry of Samuel Pepys' famed diary and a 50p coin helps observe the 160th anniversary of the birth of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author who brought us Sherlock Holmes™. The obverse of each coin in the set features Royal Mint coin designer Jody Clark's coinage portrait of Her Majesty The Queen.
