David J. Camire, NCS President and NGC Finalizer
David J. Camire is considered an authority on minting errors along with modern minting technology and production. A key benefit of knowing the minting process is the ability to distinguish minting defects from damaged coins and establish a coin’s authenticity. In addition to his expertise in coin manufacturing, Camire also specializes in modern Chinese coins. Before joining NCS, David J. Camire was a numismatist with one of the world’s largest coin companies, where he worked with many of the industry’s foremost authorities. In 1999, he joined NGC, which allowed him to hone his knowledge of all the nuances of grading and interact with the top graders in the industry. He has also consulted for government agencies along with US and world mints in the field of numismatics. He has co-authored 100 Greatest U.S. Error Coins and has contributed to such numismatic publications as Coin World, COINage, Numismatic News, The Numismatist and the Red Book. Camire is an active volunteer at the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of American History in helping to preserve the National Numismatic Collection.

Matt Curtis is a key member of The Royal Mint’s Collector Services division with his many years of numismatic knowledge and experience.
Matt has been around the coin world most of his life and started his professional career at Baldwin’s in 2005 where he helped grow the auction department to hold over 20 sales a year.
Next, in 2014 Matt co-founded Wilkes & Curtis Ltd, a numismatic business specialising in auction sales. The success of this business started to draw attention from larger companies looking to merge skills and eventually in 2017 The Royal Mint successfully persuaded Matt to move to Wales and work in Collector Services for them.
