Bullion refers to a non-ferrous alloy that is refined to a high standard in both weight and purity. Due to its alloy count, bullion is a great option for investment.
People buy them for the intrinsic value of the precious metal they contain, so production places greater emphasis on efficiency. They are struck at a rate of up to 250 gold and 3,000 silver coins per hour and are of a similar standard to Brilliant Uncirculated coins.

The Lion of England is the first in a series of ten designs in our Queen’s Beasts bullion range. The coins each depict one of The Queen’s Beasts, reimagined by Royal Mint Coin Designer Jody Clark. Jody also created the definitive coinage portrait of The Queen to appear on United Kingdom coins. The background for this range comes from the coronation of Her Majesty The Queen, where ten heraldic beasts stood guard, The Queen’s Beasts, sculpted by James Woodford RA for the coronation ceremony.
These coins not only provide a new option for those looking to invest, but the range also includes a two-ounce silver coin – the first time an official two-ounce United Kingdom bullion coin has been struck.
The Lion of England is the first coin in the series and both The Griffin and The Red Dragon of Wales are now also available to buy and add to your bullion investment portfolio.
