In 2020 we are honouring the life and legacy of George III – one of Britain’s longest reigning and most fascinating monarchs – in the year of the 200th anniversary of his death. This special edition of The Five-Sovereign Piece features a mint mark, which takes inspiration from George III’s royal cypher, combining George III’s first initial with ‘R’, an abbreviation of ‘Rex’ which is Latin for ‘king’.
This limited-edition version of the largest member of The Sovereign family is available for one year only. This is the only way to own the Five-Sovereign Piece as a single coin and there are just 350 available for 2020.
