For so many, story time just wouldn’t be the same without Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. Now, 95 years since the publication of A. A. Milne’s first Winnie-the-Pooh storybook, the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood continue to capture imaginations and bring generations together. In 2020, we started bringing the charming illustrations of E. H. Shepard to life on a series of 50p coins, and the wise friend Owl is the latest of Winnie the Pooh’s companions to feature on his own coin.

For this edition, Owl has been captured in full colour, holding a quill as he writes something important.

This is the first time Owl has featured on his own coin that has been struck by The Royal Mint and just 45,000 Brilliant Uncirculated colour-printed coins are available. This edition of the coin is exclusive to The Royal Mint and each one comes in a special pop-up booklet telling us all about Owl.
