Make way for the nation’s young collectors at our Crazy Collect Challenge! We’re calling all keen coin fans to join us online and at The Royal Mint Experience for a fact-packed day of fun on Saturday, 25 September 2021.

Take on the Crazy Collect Challenge by solving a series of clues to reveal the secret word. Visitors to The Royal Mint Experience will have fun finding a number of huge coins that each feature a letter. Write down the letters as you go along to spell the answer! We’re also holding a digital treasure hunt on our Mintlings Hub. Just follow the clues online to find a series of 10p coins, which each feature a letter. These will appear on the left-hand side of your screen as you collect them. On the Mintlings Hub, you can also explore the magical worlds of your favourite characters, make your own bunny ears and build a rocket with the help of our activity packs.

Our Mintlings Takeover Day is a special event created for young collectors as part of Collect Week 2021. With a packed itinerary and plenty of prizes, make sure you don’t miss out on the fun!

As part of Collect Week 2021, The Royal Mint has partnered with Lighthouse and its sister company, Leuchtturm, to present you with an insightful webinar on how to start and preserve a collection. Whether you’re a novice of the numismatic world or a dedicated collector, this webinar will offer you expert insight into the basics and intricacies of coin care.

Taking place on Thursday, 23 September 2021 at 11am, Account Manager Dan Cooke from Collector Services at The Royal Mint will discuss the basics of starting a collection for those new to the rewarding pastime. Sales Manager (Packaging) Lennart Stuhr and Sales Manager Georg Motschmann from Lighthouse will also offer their advice on how to use accessories to protect, care, display and enjoy your coin, medal or precious metal collection.

Making coins takes a great deal of craftsmanship and efficiency in order to produce high-quality coinage. As part of this process, The Royal Mint regularly creates trial pieces to test the dies that allow us to produce our coins with unwavering accuracy. In this insightful webinar, The Royal Mint’s NPI Technical Manager Dan Thomas and Chief Engraver Gordon Summers will discuss the process and detail of how die trial pieces are used to help maintain our high production standards. Held on Monday, 20 September 2021 at 11am, this webinar is suitable for both budding numismatists and seasoned collectors interested in gaining an insight into how our 1,100-year-old organisation makes its coins.
