Our Story

The value of a coin doesn’t just lie in its monetary worth. As they pass through the centuries, coins tell us rich stories about our past. For over a millennium, we have struck coins for Britain, as well as various countries across the globe. We have also produced medals to honour both wartime bravery and athletic brilliance, created the most visually secure bullion coin, and commemorated milestones and achievements of a range of public figures and icons – from royalty to rock stars. Find out where it all began, and discover major moments in our proud 1,100-year history.
