This commemorative bronze medal celebrates the capture of Almenara, one of the many battles in the War of the Spanish Succession. The bronze medal is dated 1710 and is in Extremely Fine condition. 

 

The obverse features a draped bust of Queen Anne wearing a laurel wreath instead of a crown. The reverse features a design by John Croker, showing an equestrian battle scene. This scene depicts the moment that General James Stanhope seized the bridle of General Amezaga’s horse, allowing Stanhope to deal Amezega a fatal blow.
