Produced by The Royal Mint, this medal was designed by Goscombe John. The medal beautifully depicts Edward, Prince of Wales, who later became Edward VIII, and proudly signifies the prince’s Welsh heritage. The obverse features a portrait of Edward, Prince of Wales, with a three-quarter bust, crowned and draped, whilst the edge features the inscription ‘INVESTITURE OF EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES’. The reverse features Caernarfon Castle with a radiant sky, decorated with the prince’s crest, crowned and finished with the Welsh dragon below.
