George VI Australian Silver Sixpence
During World War II, the Denver Mint struck silver coins for Australia (1942 and 1943) to meet the increased demand for coinage. The coins can be identified by a D mint mark above the date on the reverse. It is estimated that 20,000,000 Sixpences were minted in Denver for Australia across 1942-1943.
