1887 Victoria Gold Five Pound 'Jubilee' Sovereign
Victoria (1837-1901), gold Five Pounds, 1887, features the Jubilee type crowned bust of Queen Victoria facing left, with J.E.B. initials on the truncation, representing engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm. The Latin legend reads VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, translating to "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith." The reverse depicts St. George and the dragon facing right, with the date in the exergue and B.P. initials to the upper right, for engraver Benedetto Pistrucci.
